This lesson was about layer basics. I learned how to organize artwork on layers, create, view, and hide layers, rearrange layers and change stacking order, blend layers together, link layers to work on them at the same time, apply a gradient layer, add text and layer effects to a layer, and flatten layers.

In the extra credit portion I learned how to blend layers together and erase portions of the top layer to reveal the bottom layer.
In this lesson I learned how to make specific areas of an image active and the rest of the image non-active. I also learned how to move certain parts of an image to another area and duplicate sections of a photography. To make steps easier I learned keyboard and mouse combinations. To move an object in the image I learned how to use to arrow keys and also how to deselect and area. Another thing I learned was how to rotate an object in an image, erase pixels, and combine tools to make certain actions.

In this lesson I learned how to retouch and repair photographs. The new tools that I learned how to use are the clone stamp, spot healing brush, and healing patch. I also further learned how to undo mistakes that I may have made and use the history palette to backtrack. I also learned how to make changes look natural by using layers. The last thing that I learned in this lesson is how to use snapshots to save earlier states of a project.

In this lesson I learned how to change an image’s resolution and size, crop an image and straighten it, adjust the tonal range of an image, remove color cast from an image using Auto Color correction, adjust the saturation and brightness of an image, use the sponge and dodge tool, apply the Unsharp-Mask filter and save an image file for use in a page-layout program.

In this lesson I learned how to simply open photoshop, use several of the tools in the toolbox, access hidden tools, zoom in and out on an image, work on one specific area of an image, insert text onto an image, draw on an image, undo mistakes I may have made and use the different parts of photoshop.
